Aboriginal KindiLink – Pre-Kindy Program
KindiLink is an Aboriginal program. It is a play-and-learn initiative developed and funded by the Department of Education at 38 selected sights in Western Australia. The main objective is to support parents/carers of Aboriginal 3 year old Children with the aim of equipping them with the skills needed for Kindy/school and life- long learning. It is running as a pilot (2016-2018) and will be independently evaluated at the end of this year to inform future directions.
Through KindiLink schools will work in partnership with families to:
- Improve the social, emotional, language and cognitive capabilities of Aboriginal children in participating communities.
- Build the capability and confidence of parents/families/adult caregivers as their child’s first teacher.
- Build productive relationships between the family, the school and the community.
- Improve school attendance among participating children during their future schooling.
KindiLink sessions run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am – 12:00pm in the Kindy 3 classroom. Transport is available within our school zone and morning tea is provided.
Karen and Juanita invite all new and current families to come along to “play and learn together”. We look forward to seeing you all there.
